James Woods

Pastor James Woods is SAVED! He is the pastor of Greater Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD. Where he enjoys serving as a preacher, teacher, and evangelist of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for people of all ages, backgrounds, and spiritual needs.

In July, 2018, James was unanimously voted in by the membership as the new pastor-elect of the Greater Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church (GBMBC), located at 2000 N. Fulton, Ave., Baltimore, MD. the church known as “The Church of Love”.

He was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. He is the son of the late Billy and Gussie Ray. He is the father of one beautiful daughter, Kimberly Woods.  He is also the proud God-son of Mrs. Essie Siggers, his 92 year young mentor, dear friend, and spiritual mother on earth while his mother looks down on him from Heaven. James enjoys photography and membership in the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity but not as much as he loves serving, preaching to, and teaching the people of the living God.

He loves Jesus Christ and is grateful for all that He has done for him. James is dedicated to building the people of God by teaching them to remember that “They are of God and therefore are Overcomers of this sometimes crazy world because God who is in them is greater than anything and anyone who is in the world.” (John 1:44).  Amen.
